David from Adelaide - Podcast Ep.39
I got one of these chinese carriers also, the version with the central vertical bar that locks down over the seat (once you compress the suspension enough) The ramp that came with mine is even shorter than this one, its a dismal joke but easy enough to remedy.. I have my doubts about the integrity of this product though, the steel is fairy light gauge and the welds in crucial areas leave something to be desired when you are trusting it to hold 150+ kg without fatiguing and failing under the stresses of driving, only used it once to haul a bike 4 hrs on the hwy and added about 4 ratchet straps as extra hold and hoped for the best that it didn't fall off the back at 100km/h
Top video. Shows that even the most experienced Camper can occasionally have an exciting day. 😄😂🤣😇
Great description, thanks, ❤️🦘🦘🦘🇦🇺
Great video, your a legend for bush camping, love ya work ❤️
5:58 Mark your a bloody legend mate
I wish we could get these in the UK. For the torque/ power/ ability versus weight they cannot be beat. Nearest we have is XT660 R's but they are 181 KG as standard.
My 22 int 650 rear brakes completely failed not even 3k kms. Also neutral light comes on all the time in second gear. Great 👍
What's happened to the channel, you OK mate, or have you jacked it in.?
If anyone knows why mark hasn't put out a video for a while I'd like to know thanks guys.
Not a beginner but wanted to see what the hell you were up too. Glad to see a bush pig in the mix & you're right my thumper hasn't let me down yet. Cheers 🍻
Mark yer you've already taken it off with the air box mate coz your putting rottweiler air filter on which now goes from airfilter to air temp sensor mate 👋🤠👍
23:06 that bike spanner comes in handy when you tighten the top perrun motor bolts up grumpy .👋🤠👍
11:09 step drill bit .arms good for bar ends
The 01 is from the company starting in 1901
Just picked up mine yesterday..!! The euphoric moment was mesmerising.. 😳👌love @ first site. 😆
"Dirt easy camp cooking", you guys are so appropriate. You are the start of a new saying. Texas on the prairie
Thanks for the info. I love your suggestions, I have most of the same choices, but I am going to slightly improve some of my choices. I also take fishing equipment to fish here in NE Indiana. I'm getting a Tangkula 5-in-1 Tent Cot, Camping Tent Combo, to keep us off the ground, because we don't need poisonous snakes or spiders crawling into our sleeping bags with us. Behind my 900cc Kawasaki Vulcan Trike, I tow a Pull Behind Motorcycle Cargo Trailer, 16.6 Cu.Ft. Storage, 600-Lb. Load Capacity, with a cooler storage rack on the front, I freeze 2 one-gallon milk jugs with water in them, to keep my cooler cool, when they melt I have ice water. I never drink the water from the cooler, since it has contained some fish that I caught.
How do you change the speed settings to allow it to reach 40kmph?
Tarp + hammock = tent + sleeping mat + chair. When winter camping at the Cold Kiwi Motorcycle Rally, I used to use a 3-person dome tent - enough room for me to sleep and to store my riding gear without ending up snuggled up against a cold, wet riding jacket all night.
Hi there, great vid! What brand are the handlebars, and what are the dimensions of the clamps and the bar ends?
Good review mate loved it. Would you or anyone on your page know of a good strong bike dolly for a heritage Harley. Thanks in advance guys
Heya Mark n Nay, I hope all is well chin up, mate
All these haters on tenere. If you want to go fast offroad, then trailer a real dirt bike. There is no adv or duel purpose that can even come close to a 250x or even a cr125. There so much more fun
Don't leave these on, you're only supposed to use them to inflate the tire. After inflating take them off.
Great video! I like how you've broken everything down into categories. Here are some thoughts that I had while reading your list... - Don't forget a can opener if your can doesn't have a tab. - Camp shoes. Unless you really like whatever footwear you ride in, it's really nice to get out of them at the end of the day and a cheap pair of thongs (flip flops) does the trick. - Swim shorts. Same goes with riding pants which can be hot and uncomfortable depending on the weather. Including a pair of thin shorts with your socks and underwear doesn't add much bulk to your wardrobe kit and gives you some options. - Likewise, I always take a thin merino wool base layer. It adds warm in cooler weather but makes for good sleepwear in any season. - I like that you added some soap to your Bathroom kit but I would go a bit further and add some biodegradable dish soap as well to help with clean up after dinner. 'Camp Soap' can be used for both depending on the brand. - It should be noted that dehydrated meals are another option rather than a big heavy can of food. Just boil water. - I like your twig stove idea but regulating temperature is one of the biggest challenges when camp cooking so noobs should consider a fuel-powered stove of some sort. I love my JetBoil! - For me, part of camping is cooking (or at least reheating) but if you want to simplify it even more, skip all the kitchen stuff and just pack a sandwich. - Speaking of water, it depends on where you're going but paid campsites often have potable water access nearby so all you need is something in which to transport it. I like your water can idea but a simple water bottle works as well. For longer trips next to natural sources, a water filtration system is essential. - Lastly, I usually bring a belt knife. It can be used in the kitchen or by the campfire.
If you sleep naked, you warm up faster.
😂😂😂😂😂
I can’t decide whether I got more enjoyment out of this Video for educational purposes or just a whole Lotta laughs. Great video keep up the good work!
realy good video. thanks
I have the BMW R 1200 GSA 2006 year. It is a great bike.I have over 100 thousand KM and the motor is just fantastic. It doesnt have all the crazy electronics as the newer models have, which I see a plus. Less things to go wrong. Less extra costs. That was one of the considerations I took into account when buying my bike. I can do most repairs by myself without the need of a computer. The bike is responsive and fun to ride.
Question......i know im late but can you guys please tell me where you got those bars? I only see one place online and they seem to be out of business. Id really appreciate your help. Thanks. Great and fun video by the way
What’s happened to the channel mate ? Hope you’re ok ?
These are good bikes, no question, however , youwill sell the bike, when its in need if a rebuild, it will cost more than the value of the bike. These bikes and their Japanese counterparts are like disposable lighters, use them up and get rid of them, after all you can buy another lower mileage bike
Great video with much humour. Good of you to make all these beginner mistakes so we can learn from them. Many thanks!
So glad to find your channel, going camping next week and love your tips
What brand on GPS mount are you using above the instruments?
I found them on Temu for $1.76 lol
i wouldnt swap a dr650 for one
To solve my buffeting I removed the screen but left the mounting brackets. No more buffeting and the noise is tremendously reduced!! My last bike was a Kawa 450 which had no screen and no buffeting at any speed which gave me the idea! The Suzuki SV650 also doesnt have buffeting problems or a wind screen!
Talk about dumb and dumber there frame protectors nothing more dangerous than a she b right mechanics
I saw another video where they had a rattley cdi unit.
Hey guys. I bought my Suzuki intruder vl250, 2007. Do you know what is the purpose of the key setting near to the key ignition? It is in the sane side of the key ignition contact, same hight around 10 cm back? Thanks for your time and help
Awesome
Did you say 40% off 440? that would have been 176.00 off not 40 dollars. I suppose you're using that new math.
Hi ya. Great video. You state this is an American product it is actually Portuguese
Good
Have you noticed any issues when shifting from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th? I’ve had an occasional issue where I’m shifting up and I’ll have to double tap the shift level to get it to go into 3rd and 4th
Thanks for the video!!
Your chosen tent looks good but… When I moto camp I like to be comfortable after a day travelling. I prefer a tent with a vestibule that I can actually sit in so I can get out of the weather if I need to so I always choose a tent that I can put my chair in and sit out of the rain. I totally agree with you about not going over the top and needing a huge tent so you can stand up in so have tents where the roof I’d a few above my head height when sitting in my chair. I tend to choose between two of my tents, the cheaper one is a dome tent and the other a tunnel tent. The dome tent is a Coleman Darwin 3+ and the more expensive one a Wechsel Outpost 3. The Wechsel is the best tent by far. It packs down as small as my smaller tents and is no heavier than the other 3 man tents. It has a lot of comfortable space for living and sleeping in and if necessary I can pack up the inner tent in the dry under the tunnel and pack the wet flysheet separately. You may have noticed that both my favoured tents have the number 3 in the title and are sold as 3 person tents. In reality they might be comfortable for two people and are perfect for one motorcyclist and their gear. I went cycle camping last year and took a two person dome tent without any vestibule with me. It was too small even for that trip without lots of bulky protective clothing and boots.
544kg hahaha
